LEHMAN-ROBERTS COMPANY NEWS

View From My Office: Rhonda Bryson

By: Rhonda Bryson, Accounts Payable Specialist

To celebrate her anniversary with our team, Rhonda Bryson (Accounts Payable Specialist), recorded her reflections from two decades of service:
“I have never regretted beginning my next future with this family of companies 20 years ago. At the time, I was working for one of our vendors as my position was ending in their Memphis location. One conversation paved my way to this company. Thanks to the people I was working for, I started my new future with Lehman-Roberts/Memphis Stone & Gravel in the shop for one year.

During that year, I learned my job and trained as an Accounts Payable back up. As that year was ending, I was asked to transition to admin full time. I later learned that this was a good thing… this was where I needed to be.

Switching from systems over the years, I have been taught by the best. The knowledge and kindness I have received has been outstanding. Even more, the training has been very intense and that brings us where I am today. I have seen people, both young and old, move up in this family, on to retirement, and others to their dream jobs.

Looking ahead, we welcome a new generation to this family who will take it to a newer and better future, just as my generation did. I hope I have extended the knowledge learned to those that will someday replace me.

Today, I am where I am because of the FAMILY I’ve been blessed to work for. They helped shape me to be who I am. I’ve learned to never underestimate yourself, be what you know you are, to choose your path, and be your best.

One of my favorite sayings/lyrics goes, “If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.”¹ Make that choice count. Be your best for yourself. You’ll have no regrets.

I don’t have regrets. I am so overwhelmed by the support my work family has shown and given to me over the last few years. I am simply beyond words.

I end with advice for anyone considering a career with this company: This could be the start of your future. If you choose to decide, make the right choice.”
