Lehman-Roberts and sister company Memphis Stone & Gravel, leaders in the highway paving and asphalt and aggregate mining industries, are pleased to announce the appointment of Sherilyn Steele to Safety Specialist.
“Sherilyn is a people-first safety professional who is focused on the betterment of our team and the community. I look forward to seeing what she will accomplish to make our companies a safer place,” said Eric Allen, EHS Director and to whom Sherilyn reports.
In this role, Steele will primarily be responsible for executing safety compliance across the family of companies. As a champion for a culture of safety excellence, she will ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA and other construction industry standards. Day to day, Steele will serve as a subject matter expert on Mississippi and Tennessee DOT compliance, proactive accident prevention and safe work practices.
Steele joins the team with an impressive background in safety, most recently serving as a WHS Safety Specialist for Amazon. In this role, she engaged with leadership at daily production meetings regarding risk assessments, safety direction and acclimatization. Steele holds an array of certifications, including OSHA 30, FEMA 100/200/700/800, Certified First Aid/CPR/AED instructor and more. In addition, she is a nationally licensed EMT with specialties in IV, paramedic, and critical care.
“I’m so grateful for the opportunity the companies have provided me with to work with a plethora of amazing people,” said Steele. “I am also looking forward to volunteering in the communities [we serve], making them a safer place for all.”
