We recently witnessed the value of continuous improvement in action when quality control specialist Nat Maclin created a new tool that will help the QC team efficiently blend and report test results for our asphalt mixes.
Cory Collins, director of quality control, shared, “This tool will help train new employees how to properly make mix changes with more ease than in the past. In addition, it will help current QC techs make the correct changes. The [program he created] provides visual aid through updated graphs instead of just numbers.”
Cory continued, “Nat demonstrated our core value of continuous improvement to develop this [tool] so we could all become a better team. He continually exudes a ‘get it done’ attitude and doesn’t quit a task until it’s completed.”
Don Fletcher, vice president of manufacturing and quality control, expressed his sincere gratitude. “I’m incredibly proud of Nat. He resolved a challenge that we have been looking for a solution to. His work enables not just the quality control department, but the entire Lehman-Roberts team, to continue making decisions regarding our daily hot mix adjustments.”
