Our Quality Control (QC) team plays a critical role in ensuring the materials we produce and the work we deliver meet industry standards. Recently, four members of our QC team earned well-deserved promotions in recognition of their hard work, expertise, and dedication to our company:
Brayden Locke Promoted to Senior QC Technician
Please join us in congratulating Brayden Locke on his promotion to Senior QC Technician. Since joining the team, Brayden has quickly established himself as a trusted resource through his technical knowledge, leadership, and commitment to doing things the right way. His dedication to continuous improvement has helped him excel in the field and earn the respect of his teammates.
“Brayden has a lot of experience in his craft,” said Don Fletcher, Vice President of Manufacturing and Quality Control. “He exudes excellence and continuous improvement because he is very thorough, is a fast learner, and is good with people.” Cory Collins, Director of Quality Control, added that Brayden has “quickly mastered our QC operations” and now takes on much of the team’s new hire training because of his commitment to quality. Pitt Kimbrough, Inbound Materials Manager, echoed those sentiments, saying, “He’s proactive about developing his skills, open to feedback, and always looking for ways to do things better. Brayden is self-motivated and does everything with a positive, can-do attitude.”
Wayne Bishop Promoted to Senior QC Technician
Please join us in congratulating Wayne Bishop on his promotion to Senior QC Technician. Wayne’s years of experience, technical expertise, and leadership have made him an invaluable member of the Quality Control team. His ability to mentor others while maintaining high standards of quality has helped strengthen both the department and the operations he supports.
“Wayne is a very good teacher for our team and backs up that knowledge with his certifications,” said Don Fletcher. “His experience and expertise are essential to us, and we are lucky to have him.” Cory Collins highlighted Wayne’s impact on the team, saying, “He runs the QC lab for our busiest plant like a well-oiled machine. He treats everyone with respect and can always brighten your day with one of his stories.” Johnny Houston, QC Manager, said, “Wayne is a rockstar. He balances busy schedules at Plant 5, enjoys it, and thrives in it.” Wayne’s dedication to both excellence and inclusion has made a lasting impact on those around him.
Donald Pike Promoted to Senior QC Technician
Congratulations to Donald Pike on his promotion to Senior QC Technician. Donald’s growth, reliability, and willingness to step up whenever needed have made him a valuable asset to the Quality Control team. Through hard work and determination, he has earned multiple certifications and become someone his coworkers can depend on day or night.
“Donald continues to grow in his role and has really been a team player,” said Fletcher. “He earned all his certifications and is willing to fill in for teammates day or night.” According to Cory Collins, Donald’s commitment to safety is one of the qualities that sets him apart. “The first thing that comes to mind about Donald is our core value of safety,” Collins said. “He is always willing to speak up when challenges arise.” Johnny Houston, QC Manager, added, “Donald has taken on Plant 2 and continues to run with [the responsibility]. He stays a step ahead, identifying opportunities to improve and making adjustments along the way.” His dedication to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement has earned him this well-deserved promotion.
Hayden-Lamar Johnson Promoted to QC Technician III
Congratulations to Hayden-Lamar Johnson on his promotion to QC Technician III. Hayden has consistently demonstrated a strong desire to learn and grow, taking every opportunity to expand his knowledge and contribute to the success of the team. His recent achievement of earning his Level 3 MDOT Asphalt Certification reflects the effort and dedication he brings to his role every day.
“Hayden is very energetic and intelligent,” said Don Fletcher. “He embodies our core value of inclusion because he works well with everybody on the team.” Cory Collins praised Hayden’s commitment to excellence, saying, “He’s always eager to learn and ask questions to have a better understanding of how and why we operate and do things.” Collins also noted that even though Hayden works in Quality Control, he regularly steps in to assist with plant maintenance when needed, demonstrating his team-first mentality and willingness to go above and beyond. Johnny Houston, QC Manager, added, “Hayden has really grown into this role. Behind that well-known goofy exterior, he is super intelligent, and I count on him to handle Plant 10.”
