Lehman-Roberts, a leader in the highway paving, construction and asphalt industry, was awarded a 2022 Quality in Construction Award for excellence in construction of an asphalt pavement. The company was recognized by the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) during the association’s 68th Annual Meeting.
“When the average motorist considers what they want out of quality roadways, we want Lehman-Roberts to be top of mind,” said Jeremy Ramberg, SVP of Construction. “In our team’s continued pursuit of excellence, we are honored to reflect on this esteemed award from NAPA, which affirms we are on the right path.”
Lehman-Roberts won the award for its work on Hwy. 9 in Pontotoc County, Mississippi, which was completed on behalf of the paving crew led by Darrell Franklin. This busy roadway had become unsafe due to the high volume of heavy lumber trucks using it. The company milled the road, patched failed areas with an asphalt overlay, cut rumble strips, and striped the road. Despite challenges stemming from COVID restrictions, Lehman-Roberts produced a smooth, high-quality asphalt pavement that has made the road safer for all travelers, including those going to and from a nearby school.
“The asphalt pavement industry is committed to building high-quality projects that deliver superior performance to the traveling public. All contractors’ projects earning a Quality in Construction award are measured against best practices designed to live up to that commitment,” said 2022 NAPA Chairman James A. Mitchell. “Earning the Quality in Construction Award demonstrates that Lehman-Roberts Co. has met or exceeded these rigorous standards.”
