The National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) recently announced that Lehman-Roberts, a Granite Company, won a 2025 Quality in Construction Award for excellence in the construction of an asphalt pavement. The company was recognized during the association’s 71st annual meeting.
“The asphalt pavement industry is resolute in its dedication to delivering projects of exceptional quality and performance for the traveling public. Each project honored with a Quality in Construction Award is rigorously evaluated against the highest industry standards, reflecting an unwavering commitment to excellence,” said Pat Nelson, 2025 NAPA Chairman.
The Lehman-Roberts team won the award for its work on US 61 in Coahoma and Tunica, Mississippi. This project, completed by the Franklin, Collins, and Shoemaker teams, consisted of scrub sealing the existing road and then placing a 1.5-inch overlay on it, working very early in the day to get the emulsion to work in the very hot summer temperatures.
The project mixes incorporated reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP), a sustainable paving practice that conserves natural resources, cuts emissions, reduces landfill waste and improves pavement longevity. Lehman-Roberts produced a smooth, high-quality asphalt surface for area motorists.
