The Plant 6 quality control laboratory owned by Lehman-Roberts, A Granite Company, has been accredited by the AASHTO Accreditation Program (AAP).
As an AASHTO-accredited site, the Plant 6 laboratory demonstrates conformance to specific national and international standards, providing enhanced confidence in testing capabilities and results. This prestigious recognition enables Lehman-Roberts to serve more national, state, and local entities that require accreditation, while providing the organization with the opportunity to influence and improve industry standards and maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends and issues within the industry.

The Plant 6 lab, located in Hernando, MS, was constructed in 2023 and features state-of-the-art technology, including, an Infratest Asphalt Analyzer with Rotary Evaporator, and an Asphalt Pavement Analyzer (APA) Jr. This lab regularly performs test methods such as the D8159 Automated Extraction of Asphalt Binder from Asphalt Mixtures and the T324 Hamburg Wheel-Track Testing of Compacted Hot-Mix Asphalt.
The AASHTO Accreditation Program (AAP) accredits laboratories for over 650 AASHTO, ASTM, state, and industry standards across various fields. The accreditation process involves thorough third-party assessments, during which laboratory staff demonstrate all test methods and evaluate the testing apparatus. The quality management system is reviewed, covering technician training records, competency evaluations, and equipment calibration. Participation in proficiency sample programs is also verified to ensure consistent quality results.
