In an industry brimming with career possibilities, Michael Cosby’s journey with our team epitomizes a true success story. We’re thrilled to announce his promotion to foreman of Asphalt Plant 11 in Oxford, MS.
“Michael is the definition of ambitious,” said Blake Kimbrough, assistant superintendent. “He’s always been hungry for more.” In fact, after joining our asphalt plants division in 2021 as a groundman, Michael quickly rose to plant operator, followed by leadman. As he steps into the shoes of foreman, he’s prepared to share his experience with his peers as we all work towards continuous improvement.
Superintendent Howard Green shared, “Michael has learned a lot over his time with us, and he’s excelled in teaching others while also learning the ropes himself. He’s not afraid to share knowledge with his team, and that’s why he’s such a great fit.”
Don Fletcher, VP of manufacturing and quality control, added, “Michael’s story illustrates the journey from humble beginnings to success. He’s done the work to [learn the plant through various roles], and most importantly, he looks out for the safety of others.”
With his lead-by-example style, Michael has earned the respect of his team. Blake explained, “Michael demonstrates hard work and loyalty each day. He shows that from dusk ‘til dawn, no questions asked.”
Dennis Knight, assistant superintendent of maintenance, worked closely alongside Michael for years as the prior foreman of Plant 11. He recalled, “I was thankful to have him as a groundman and plant operator during my time as foreman. I know he’ll do great things as a foreman himself. We’re lucky to have him on our team, that’s for sure.”
