After 38 years of unwavering service, Howard Green is retiring, leaving behind a profound and lasting impact at Lehman-Roberts, A Granite Company. Throughout his career, he built a strong reputation as an influential, respected, and deeply relied-upon leader. His presence shaped not only our operations but also our culture across the company.
As a Superintendent, Howard played a pivotal role in training, mentoring, and coaching generations of asphalt plant personnel. In addition, his commitment to excellence and safety became the foundation on which our plants operate every day. Jeremy Ramberg, VP of Lehman-Roberts, shared, “It is impossible to overstate the impact Howard Green has had on men and women throughout operations at Lehman-Roberts. He trained, mentored, and coached all of our personnel, ensuring our plants ran with precision and a constant focus on safety and efficiency. He leaves behind a legacy of high standards that will guide us for years to come.”
Don Fletcher, Vice President of Manufacturing and Quality Control, reminisced about his time working with Howard, stating, “Howard was a loyal, second-generation employee of Lehman-Roberts, whose steady temperament and extensive knowledge guided asphalt plant operations throughout his 38-year career. He was always willing to help and had a clear understanding of how each part of the business and the people within it worked together. Howard was a great teammate and an even better friend.” Don added with a laugh, “He will be deeply missed… including his legendary ability to snore.”
Blake Kimbrough, incoming Superintendent of Asphalt Plants, reflected on the leadership that defined Howard’s career, saying, “Howard’s leadership, loyalty, and industry knowledge have shaped the way our asphalt plants have produced for nearly four decades. His dedication, commitment to quality, and care for others set the standard for all of us.”
Across every level of the company, Howard has been a trusted leader, teacher, and, most importantly, someone everyone depended on and genuinely admired. Beyond the work itself, Howard built strong relationships by sharing stories, laughter, and friendships that will be remembered just as much as his professional accomplishments.
As he steps into retirement, Howard’s absence will be felt deeply by his team. We thank him for 38 outstanding years and wish him all the best as he embarks on this well-deserved next chapter!
