Celebrating Retirement with Tab Hamm

After 28 years of dedicated service, Lehman-Roberts, A Granite Company, celebrates the career and well-earned retirement of Tab Hamm, whose quiet professionalism, persistence, and deep industry knowledge made him an invaluable part of the organization.

As Purchasing Agent, Tab worked largely behind the scenes, but his impact was felt across every division. When a crew needed a part, a plant needed supplies, or a problem needed solving, Tab was the person everyone trusted to get it done correctly and quickly.

“Tab was a quiet professional,” said Jeremy Ramberg, Vice President. “His rolodex of knowledge in our business was larger than anyone’s. If we needed it, Tab knew exactly what and where to get it. His knowledge will be missed, but we wish him all the best in retirement.”

That knowledge, combined with determination and follow-through, helped keep operations moving even in the most challenging situations.

“He is very organized, tenacious, and will keep on a foreman to get a part needed,” said Howard Green, Superintendent of Asphalt Plants Production. “He always knew who to talk to or where to go to get the right part needed for a job and to keep things moving.”

He joked, “Good with technology, but still loved to use his Rolodex. He wouldn’t give up on anything and would always find an answer. If he wasn’t at work and you called, he still answered.” Many colleagues went on to describe Tab as the steady force working in the background, making sure the details were handled so others could focus on their work.

“Tab was a great teammate,” said Don Fletcher, VP of Manufacturing and Quality Control. “Like the engine behind the machine, he worked in the background, never asking for credit or the spotlight, but the machine could not operate without him.”

His reliability and commitment were especially meaningful to those working directly in plant operations.

“Tab was someone you could always count on,” said Blake Kimbrough, Asphalt Plant Superintendent. “No matter how urgent or unusual the request, he found a way to make it happen. His knowledge of parts, vendors, and people kept our asphalt plants running, and his dedication never wavered. He made everyone’s job easier, and his absence will definitely be felt.”

Over nearly three decades, Tab built strong relationships, earned trust, and established a standard of dependability that will leave a lasting mark on Lehman-Roberts. His work ethic, problem-solving mindset, and willingness to always answer the call defined his career and supported countless teammates along the way.

We are grateful for Tab’s 28 years of service and the many ways he contributed to the success of our team. We wish him nothing but happiness and fulfillment in retirement!
